Answers only from your files, with the page attached

A shared knowledge base your team can actually trust

Upload your handbooks, contracts and notes, then ask in plain words. Answers come only from your files — and every source opens the original at the exact page.

Example conversation in PageTruth, in the ACME Inc company knowledge base.

Question: How much notice do I need to give before annual leave? Answer: Four weeks' written notice to your direct manager. Requests over ten consecutive days also need HR approval. Sources: Employee Handbook 2026 — p.14, Leave Policy (Mar 2026) — p.3.

Question: What are the payment terms in the Acme contract? Answer: Net 30 from the invoice date. Late payments accrue interest at 1.5% per month. Sources: Acme Services Agreement — p.7.

Question: Can the team work from home on Fridays? Answer: Yes. Staff may work remotely up to two days a week with manager approval. Sources: Flexible Work Policy — p.2.

Question: What is our parental leave top-up? Answer: I could not find that in your documents. Nothing in the four files uploaded to this knowledge base covers parental leave top-up. No source.

The folder problem

You already have the answer. You just don’t have the page.

Policies, contracts, manuals, meeting notes — all sitting in a shared drive with names like final_v3_UPDATED.pdf. So people ask a colleague instead of reading. Or they guess.

PageTruth turns that folder into something you can just ask.

Before

  • handbook_v3_UPDATED.pdf
  • Leave Policy (Mar).docx
  • acme_contract_(2).pdf
  • notes 14-03 FINAL.docx

and 43 more

After

“How much notice do I need to give before annual leave?”

Four weeks’ written notice to your direct manager.

Features

Built to be checked

Four things, and the last three are the reason the first one is worth having.

  • Ask the way you would ask a colleague

No search syntax and no tags to maintain. Type the question in plain words and get a written answer, not ten filenames to open.

  • Every answer keeps its page

Each source opens the original document at the page the answer came from, with the passage it used highlighted. You check it in one click, or you do not — but you can.

  • It tells you when it does not know

If your files do not cover the question, it says so. An answer that admits the gap is worth more than a confident one you have to go and verify.

  • Each knowledge base stays sealed

One per team, client or project. The separation is enforced twice — once in the search index, once in the database — so a question here can never reach a document there.

How it works

From a folder to an answer in four steps

  1. 01

    Upload your files

Drag in PDFs, Word docs and slides. Whole folders at a time.

  2. 02

    We read them

Text is pulled out of every page, including scanned pages.

  3. 03

    We index them

Your documents become searchable by meaning, not just keywords.

  4. 04

    You ask

Type a question. Get an answer with a link to the exact page.

Why it holds up

Every answer shows its source

Most AI tools sound confident and cite nothing. Some invent the citation.

PageTruth works backwards. It finds the passage first, checks which page that passage sits on, then writes the answer. If your files do not contain the answer, it says so instead of filling the gap.

Grounding every answer in a page we can point at takes answer accuracy to 94% — where a general-purpose chatbot is guessing.

Use cases

One tool, many kinds of knowledge base

  • HR and people teams

Handbooks, policies and onboarding docs. Staff answer their own questions instead of emailing you.

  • Operations

SOPs, safety procedures and equipment manuals. The right step, on the right page.

  • Client services

A separate knowledge base per client. Briefs, contracts and scopes, kept apart.

  • Education and training

Course notes, unit guides and compliance records, searchable by students and staff.

  • Finance and compliance

Audit files and regulatory documents, with a page reference for every answer.

  • Small business owners

Everything you know that lives in your head or a folder. In one place your team can ask.

If you have documents and people who need answers from them, it works.

FAQ

Questions people ask

What file types can I upload?

PDF, Word, PowerPoint and plain text. Scanned PDFs work too — we read the text off the page.

Can it make things up?

It answers only from the documents you upload. If the answer is not in your files, it tells you rather than guessing.

Who can see my documents?

Only the people you invite to that knowledge base. Each knowledge base is isolated from every other one.

Do I need a credit card to try it?

No. The free tier gives you 10 messages, 2 knowledge bases and 20 documents.

Why is sign-in Google only?

Because there is no password to steal, reuse or reset. You already trust Google with your email, so we let it do the hard part.

How do I add my team?

Enter their Gmail address. They sign in and have access straight away.

What happens when I hit a limit?

Nothing breaks. You are told which limit you reached and can add just that piece.

Can I delete a document or a whole knowledge base?

Yes, at any time. Deleting removes it from the search index as well as the file store.

Who builds PageTruth?
